Founders Story

The Catalyst

L [dot] was born in 2020, not out of a business plan, but from a desperate need for creative expression during the quietest year on record. What started as a pandemic outlet quickly became an obsession with the grit of building something from the ground up. I spent years learning the mechanics of building a business, and launched it in 2023 but the vibes never felt quite right.

Then, a cancer diagnosis changed everything.

It was the ultimate catalyst. It stripped away the desire to be "pleasant" or "curated" and replaced it with a drive for the unedited. I realized that the things I value most — the wrong turn on a backroad that leads to the best story, the conversations that run too late — were exactly what was missing from the brand. I stopped trying to make "nice" candles and started creating the olfactory anchors for the moments that actually leave a mark.

Beyond the Studio

When I’m not obsessing over fragrance notes or business strategy, I’m usually leaning into the "beautiful detour." You’ll find me exploring the great outdoors—hiking, camping, and disappearing into uncharted territory—or plotting a spontaneous road trip with my husband, our dog, and our cat (who is a surprisingly good traveler).

At home, I’m the host who stays for the deep dive. Whether I’m cooking for a crowd or sharing a quiet secret in the dark, I believe in the artistry of a well-lived life.
